What you should know about Avalon Tennis Club
He had sold building sites to a Mr D McArthur, and persumably because the river was prone to flooding in this region, the land was considered unsuitable for homes. Two concrete courts were poured, the gravel being dredged from the Hutt River. The next move took place in 1962 when the Council required the clubs Mabey Road land for street widening. From the original six or seven members membership grew to 40 in the late 1920's, stayed stable for many years, then dwindled to in the 1950's
Midweek club runs all year round excluding the Christmas Fresh Year holidays and a number of social events are organized throughout the year.
The club employs the services of Professional Coach, Jason Kane and associates, to facilitate our Junior Coaching, this ensures that the needs of all players are catered for focusing on regular improvement at all levels of play. In addition to the courts provided to our members the club also provides 1 asphalt Court for public use this court is located in front of the members facilities which aren't available for public use. Winter Regional Interclub A fortnightly Doubles competition played on Sunday afternoons during Winter May to August comprising teams from the three local associations Hunt Valley, Kali Dana Wellington. The club is healthy obvious for its sociable members and immense social activities and we're perpetual more than happy to welcome fresh members. Midweek Interclub Played every second Wednesday morning at Mitchell Park and Hunt Valley clubs.
For fresh members to the club this is an ideal way to meet other club members and to get involved in club activities. Annual General Meeting The clubs Annual General Meeting ABM is held onside in the club rooms in July each year. Presidents Interclub Played on Sunday's morning and afternoon start times throughout Summer this Hunt Valley based competition is a Doubles grade for Women aged 35 and Men aged 40. 00am Beginners. Membership Types The club offers a variety of membership types with vogue options as follows Subscriptions for the seasons expiring 30 September 2017 is as follows Family 375
