What you should know about Hutt City Health Centre
HUTT CITY HEALTH CENTRE was established in April 2010 in response to a critical shortage of primary care in our Hutt Valley community. We have since enrolled over 11,800 patients in two locations, Hutt Central and Wainuiomata. Our local hospital is Hutt Hospital, managed by Wairarapa and Hutt Valley DHBs and we also care for patients in Riverleigh Residential Care, Elderslea and Heretaunga Resthomes. In 2014 our Hutt City Central practice outgrew our initial High Street premises and moved into a new purpose built Medical Centre at 5 Raroa Road.
Also in 2013 we took over a Medical Centre in Wainuiomata, which is now located at 5 Fitzherbert Road. Wainui’ is a very special place with its own character, friendly people and a true sense of community. In the future we will continue to focus on initiatives that provide improvements in healthcare for Hutt Valley and Wainuiomata. We want to educate, encourage and support our patients to achieve healthy lifestyles and live healthy lives.

Many General Practices in Hutt Valley are unable to enrol new patients as they are full already.

This Policy is written to ensure that children and young people visiting HUTT CITY HEALTH CENTRES feel safe and comfortable. The purpose of this policy is to provide HUTT CITY HEALTH CENTRES’ staff guidelines by which to identify and respond appropriately to concerns of abuse and neglect, and to understand their role in keeping children safe. The Child Protection Policy will be reviewed every three years as a minimum, and updated regularly in the light of operational experience and in line with changes in legislation and associated policies.
Overall responsibility, implementation and review of this policy rests with the Clinical Director and Chief Executive of HUTT CITY HEALTH CENTRES. To establish the Clinical Director as the person responsible for the oversight of this policy and for providing guidance to individuals. This policy applies to all staff including health professionals and non health professionals , all contractors, and all health professionals who provide health services at HUTT CITY HEALTH CENTRES. All staff employed at HUTT CITY HEALTH CENTRES, AURICLE HEALTH Limited and or associated organisations.
The HUTT CITY HEALTH CENTRES Complaints Officer is Pauline Hazeldine, Practice Manager.
