What you should know about Jack and Jill Early Learning Centre
Jack and Jill Early Learning Centre sets in a beautiful natural environment. The large inside and outside environment provides children with uninterrupted time to play, giving them opportunities to explore and learn in group activities as well as spending time exploring and playing quietly on their own. The outdoor environment has many different areas and surfaces that allow children to explore their natural environment and be involved in safe challenges. Our focus at the Under Two’s is to provide an environment where children and their wh nau feel a sense of security and belonging. As a team, we support your child to develop and get involved at their own pace in this respectful, calm and peaceful environment.
We believe it is very important for wh nau to be fully involved in their child’s settling, learning and development. Please bring spare sets of clothes for your children to get changed if necessary so they can remain comfortable all day. I spent 13 years in Melbourne where I worked in a specialist school for 5 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoying our beautiful bush walks and beaches. I have a strong passion for working with young children and love being a part of their overall learning and development.
I am committed to our centre and the quality education and care for all the children that attend at Jack and Jill. I thoroughly enjoy teaching young children in all areas of literacy and arts. I have worked at Jack and Jill for 11 years and I love working with children because there is never a dual moment and they keep me young. Bachelor of Arts in Education Psychology Graduate Diploma of Teaching Early Childhood Education Provisional registration First aid. Early childhood education is a critical first step in building the foundation for a child’s learning and development.
I startd as an on site cook at Jack and Jill toward the end of 2012, when the Under Two’s centre started. I am from Melbourne and I live here in Wainuiomata with my partner and two year old son Pryce who also attends the centre. I enjoy spending time with my family and I have a passion for cooking and experimenting with different flavours and new ingredients. I have been teaching for twenty years starting with college children working my way down into early childhood, the teaching sector I love being in. Established in 1950’s, Jack and Jill Early Learning Centre previously Jack and Jill Kindergarten was one of the earliest to provide the community with early childhood education and care services.
Please feel free to phone us to arrange a visit, and spend time here with your child children getting to know the teachers and centre routines. We value and respect the unique knowledge and contribution of whanau in the decision making around the children’s care and education, learning and development
