What you should know about Taita Central School
This means that we welcome parents caregivers visiting classrooms, and that staff will be available to parents caregivers at the earliest opportunity. You, on your part, should retain your child’s teacher informed of any home event which is probable to have a bearing on your child’s development. Consequently, it is very important that parents caregivers inform us if your kid is absent. Parents are asked to talk to teachers about their child prior or after school as it can be difficult to have a significant conversation if the teacher is teaching a class.
Class Teachers and students are also supported by a Reading Recovery teacher, and 5 Teacher Aides. We have a Reading Recovery Teacher on our staff, who works every morning, big-hearted specific reading assistance to some of our younger children. It is also important that the school is informed if an adult, not obvious to the class teacher or the school, is to pick up a child. Please would parent caregivers ensure that your kid is at school by 8. From time to time there will need to be surplus school notices and Block newsletters sent home.
Here are a scanty of the other things we have been doing in our class recently. Swimming is a very urgent part of the school curriculum, so we expect all children to take part. The School is segment of the Duffy Books in Schools programmed which provides books for each student each year, and the Fruit in Schools programmed which provides fruit to all students maximum days of the school year. All non teaching staff at taiga Central School have a Police vet every three years.
Maximum of the Teachers, Teacher Aides and Encourage Staff have worked here for at minimum six years. We have very tall expectations of our students in all areas of learning and behavior. Children do not depart the school grounds during the lunch hour unless we have a specific request from parents caregivers. As we are a restorative practice’ school, all students will get the chance to talk through their behavior with an adult.
We have approximately 130 students at the start of the year, rising to about 150 by the end of the year
