Titan Cranes is New Zealand's crane hire and heavy lift specialist offering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service in both the North Island and South Island. A privately owned New Zealand company, our business began in 1965 with five cranes of a maximum lifting capacity of 18 tonnes. While general and taxi crane hire work remains the cornerstone of our business, project work is an integral part of operations. Over the years, the Titan name has been highly visible on many of New Zealand's major construction sites.
Titan Cranes’ Head Office and Wellington branch is based at the industrial suburb of Seaview, Hutt City and we have branches in New Plymouth, Christchurch and Dunedin. The New Plymouth branch provides services to New Zealand's petrochemical industry
The main business of the newly formed company was crane hire and the buying, selling and reconditioning of used plant and equipment. Nine Wilkins Davies staff joined the new company in 1965, including Colin Worsfold Assistant Manager , Jim Tomlinson workshop and Frank Wicksteed workshop . The first company secretary and financial adviser was Hugh Palmer, a partner in the public accountancy firm of Watkins Hull Wheeler Johnston. 1967 Ray Vincent director and shareholder and Hugh Palmer company secretary died during 1967.
David Kay, another Watkins Hull Wheeler Johnston partner, became company secretary on 18 December. He had worked at Watkins Hull Wheeler Johnston where he had been responsible for the Titan accounting procedures
Titan Cranes are committed to the health and safety of our employees, customers and the wider community. The Price may be increased by the amount of any reasonable enlarge in the cost of supply of the Equipment and or Services that is beyond the control of Titan Cranes between the date of the contract and delivery of the Equipment and Services. Where no Price is stated in writing, the Equipment and or Services shall be deemed to be hired at the current amount as such Equipment and or Services are hired by Titan Cranes at the time of the contract.
Titan Cranes may require the payment of a deposit, the sum of which will be encourage by Titan Cranes in its sole discretion and shall constitute a piece payment of the whole cost of Equipment and or Services hired. Where the Customer cancels the Equipment and or Services less than 24 hours earlier to the commencement of hire communication of such cancellation to be provided verbally and in writing to a Titan Cranes representative, the Customer shall be probable to pay Titan Cranes up to 80 of the full Equipment and or Service costs. Titan Cranes has expanded its range of services to include telehandlers with the buy of a Merle 28.
